Enhanced Specialized Nursing Training Program:

COVID-19 Preparedness; Intensive Care Training

  • A 6 months session on mitigation of COVID and other related diseases related to COVID has been taught thoroughly through 4 hours weekly classes by foreign faculties from  Harvard, MGH, etc.
  • Participated Nurses on completion of the curriculum were awarded a Certificate issued by AYAT Education and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston USA.

Training for Nurses and Midwives in Response to COVID-19

Supported by: UNFPA, DGNM

  • Helps nurses and midwives build self-confidence and professionalism towards management of COVID-19 cases and serving patients with the best care and manner.
  • Around 600 government nurses were given thorough and rigorous training on COVID management in the country. Lectures, presentations, demo from both national and international faculty personnel, made the training and online learning fruitful and encouraged more nurses to join these educative sessions.

Skills training to prepare laboratory assistants for pathology operations with special reference to the collection of COVID-19 specimen collection technique

  • Basic laboratory assistant training for the drop-out and underprivileged youth with a special focus on COVID-19 to eradicate poverty and encourage self-dependency.
  • 60 trainees were trained and the training program was conducted both online and offline. The training was conducted by an international expert through the online sessions. It was a 1-month training course including presentation, assignment, project, demo etc. for the trainees. After completing the training trainees got jobs as sample collectors, research assistants, laboratory assistants etc.

Mitigating the Spread of COVID-19 in Textile Mills in Dhaka, Bangladesh

  • Support factories in adopting best practices and standards around COVID- 19 to increase safety for workers and reduce the contamination of the virus.
  • Decrease the number of new cases of COVID-19 among factory workers and in the community through testing strategies.

SEIP – Skills For Employment Investment Program

Skills training on Woven Machine Operation trade in the readymade  garments sector with the view to employment for the unemployed,  underprivileged, marginalized people in the garments industry.

It is a 3 monthly hands-on training program. It also trains on soft skills so that trainees can find a proper job. Women and specially-abled people get preference during admission of this training. More than 80% of our trainees gets employed in different garments factories after completing the training program.

STITCH SRHR Tailor-Made information and training to contribute to occupational health and safety conditions of factory workers in the ready-made garment sector in Bangladesh

ASDC is engaged in providing tailor-made innovative SRHR education to future  workers. 4 master trainer received TMT from VU, Netherlands in the year  of 2019. ASDC is working on quality curriculum for SRHR training, including Provide tailor-made innovative SRHR education to future workers.

  • Train factory PC and Safety committee members to become aware of
  • the diverse SRHR needs of garment workers.
